Crust: 1 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup margarine. Mix together and press into an 8 x 10 buttered pan and bake for 10 minutes at 275 degree.

Filling: 2 eggs beaten, add 1 cup brown sugar, 1 1/2 cups coconut (you can substitute 3/4 cup oatmeal if you do not like coconut), 1 cup chopped nuts (finely),2 tablespoons flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Mix together and cover crust. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes.

Icing: 1 cup icing sugar, 1 tablespoon margaring, rind and juice from one good sized lemon. Cover and let bars cool. This way the icing will melt thoughout the bars.

If you let each layer cool down before continuing then the result will be a definite formation of layers. Either way is excellent.
