3 c. water

1/4 c. uncooked barley
2 bay leaves
1 1/2 c. frozen mixed vegetables

Heat oil in Dutch oven or large saucepan over medium high heat; brown meat.

Stir in remaining ingredients except mixed vegetables; bring to boil.
