Combine the first nine ingredients thoroughly in a medium sized bowl and refrigerate 15 minutes or so.

Heat the vegtable oil on medium heat in a large non-stick frying pan.

Form meat mixture into firm 1 -1 1/4 inch sized meatballs by rolling them in your clean hands.

Brown the meatballs in the frying pan in two batches and set aside (be very gentile as to not break them apart).

Fry the onion using about a tablespoon of the remaining oil a few minutes until the onion is translucent.

Combine 2 cups hot water with the half envelope of onion soup mix and add to the onions in the frying pan along with the meatballs.

Cover and simmer over medium-low heat for 20 minutes flipping the meatballs once at 10 minutes and no more.

Remove meatballs from the pan leaving the onion broth.

Wisk 1/2 cup of the hot broth with the flour in a small bowl, then add it back to the frying pan and whisk to combine.

Add the meatballs back and spoon the gravy over them -simmer uncovered for 5 minutes

Serve with toothpicks as an appetizer or over buttered noodles.
