Mix 1/4 cup warm water with yeast and 1 tablespoon white flour.
-
2
Cover with a cloth and set aside for about 15 minutes.
-
3
Once the mixture is foamy, add the rest of the water and stir.
-
4
Mix in salt and 1 cup white flour.
-
5
Add the rest of the flour and whole wheat flour and knead on a lightly floured surface.
-
6
Cover and let rest until dough has doubled in size.
-
7
Afterwards, knead dough for a few minutes before covering it and leaving it to rest once again, until it has doubled in size.
-
8
Knead dough once again (last time, I promise!).
-
9
The dough is now ready to be shaped and topped.
