You decide on the proportions to your taste. Start with a little of everything and then add more as you continue. Some people like sweet beans some like spicy. Open beans and put in larger saucepan. Drain and add butterbeans. Fry bacon slightly crisp, chop up and add. Saute onions in bacon fat until translucent. Add bacon and onion to the beans. Next, add 2 TBS of ketchup, 2 tsp of mustard , 1 tsp of molasses,and a couple of dashes of tabasco and worcestershire sauce. Stir until blended. Let simmer on low for 20 minutes. Taste and adjust seasonings according to your taste.Do not overcook because the beans will be mushy.
