Delicious Bars

   Drain pears; reserve 1/2 of the liquid; dice and set aside. In large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy.

   Add egg, vanilla and reserved pear syrup; mix well.

   Combine flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; stir into butter mixture.

   Add chocolate chips and diced pears.

   Turn into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.

   Bake at 350u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.

   Cut into bars while still warm.
