3 eggs, well beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. chopped walnuts
2 c. brown sugar

Combine dates, sugar and water. Cook until thick (10 minutes). Add nuts and cool. Cream the shortening and sugar. Add eggs and remaining ingredients. Chill. Roll into 2 or 3 rolls. Spread with filling.
