Date Filled Pinwheel Cookies Recipe

   Cream butter, gradually add in 1 c. brown sugar; cream well.

   Add in 1 unbeaten egg and vanilla.

   Beat well.

   Blend dry ingredients and roll out 1/2 of dough on floured surface to an 8x10 rectangle.

   Spread with 1/2 of filling.

   Roll as for jelly roll starting with 10 inch side.

   Wrap in wax paper and cold.

   You can freeze rolls of dough because they cut easier for baking.

   Slice 1/4 inch thick and place on lightly greased baking sheet.

    Bake 350 for 8 to 10 min.
