Heat oil in large saucepan on medium-high heat. Cook onion, garlic and carrot, stirring, until onion softens. Add beef, cook, stirring, for 10 mins or until changed in color.

Add Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, crushed tomatoes and herbs to pan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer, uncovered, for 30 mins or until mixture thickens slightly. Stir in mushrooms and peas.

Preheat the oven to 350u00b0F. Meanwhile, boil, steam or microwave potato until tender; drain. Mash potato in large bowl with milk and butter. Season.

Pour beef mixture into deep 3-quart baking dish. Top with mashed potato mixture and sprinkle with cheese.
