3/4 c. Crisco
1 c. milk
3 eggs
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Add Crisco and first amount of milk called for.

Beat with mixer at medium speed for 2 minutes.

Add eggs, rest of milk and vanilla.

Beat 2 minutes. Spread batter in 2 well greased and floured 9 x 1 1/2-inch round layer cake pans.

Bake at 350u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes until center springs back when touched lightly.
