   Place the sugar, corn syrup and water in saucepan over low heat.

   Stir until sugar is dissolved, then cook to 225u00b0 (a little dropped into cold water forms a hard ball).

   Remove from heat; pour, beating constantly, in a fine stream into 3 egg whites. Continue beating until mixture holds its shape and loses its gloss.

   Add the vanilla and broken nuts.

   Drop quickly from tip of buttered spoon onto waxed paper in individual peaks.
