Place the butter in a mixing bowl and mix on low until it turns creamy. At first it will stick to your beaters, but just let it mix for a few moments and it will start to soften.

Add the confectioner's sugar one cup at a time, slowly incorporating with your mixer on low.

Add the milk, vanilla and ground cinnamon and mix on low until fully incorporated. If it is too thick for you, add a bit more milk, if it is too runny for you, add a bit more confectioner's sugar.

Because of the butter, it is important that you wait to frost your cake until it is completely cooled, I tried to rush mine and my icing sorta melted in spots.

Pour the frosting on the center of the cake, and carefully work it out to the edges. Refrigerate to harden icing. Store cake in fridge. This was so wonderful on my Cinnamon Beer Cake, be sure to check out that recipe.
