Chuck'S Grandma'S Ginger Cookies

   Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

   Dissolve baking soda in hot water then combine all ingredients except flour.

   Slowly add flour, a 1/2 cup at a time until 4 cups are added then continue adding a 1/4 cup at a time until a stiff dough is formed. You may not use all the flour.

   Roll out on a floured surface - not to thick. Cut out shapes or gingerbread men.

   Bake for 8-9 minutes.
