2 tablespoons powdered milk
1 teaspoon mixed spice
2 tablespoons cane sugar
2 tablespoons lard
1 pinch salt
9/16 tablespoon yeast dried
7 3/4 tablespoons lard at room temperature
1 3/4 tablespoons butter at room temperature
4 1/3 tablespoons orange candied, chopped
7/8 cup cherries stoned, in natural juice, drained
1/2 cup cane sugar
powdered sugar for sprinkling

Place all the ingredients into the bread maker in the order above. Set the program to 'dough.'

In a separate bowl, add the sultanas, orange and cherries, with the sugar and mix well. Set aside.

Turn out the dough onto a lightly floured surface and press down to release any air.

Roll out into a rectangle about 1 centimeter thick.

Fold over the remaining third into the center, and then fold again to form a rectangle with 3 layers.

Cook for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
