Preheat oven at 190 C (375 F). Lightly butter 6 muffin cups.

Stir hot water and the cocoa powder until smooth. Let cool to room temperature. In an other bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Then add the egg, beating until smooth; add the vanilla.

Add the flour and baking powder and mix until incorporated. Now add the cocoa mixture and stir until smooth. Fill each muffin cup 2/3 full and bake for about 20 minutes.

In the meantime, prepare the frosting by melting the chocolate. Beat the butter, sugar and vanilla until smooth and fluffy and then add in the melted chocolate. Using a syringe, decorate the cupcakes with your chocolate frosting.
