1 cup plus 2 tablespoons allpurpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
6 ounces good quality bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, chopped coarsely

Place the butter in the bowl of an electric mixer and beat until creamy.

Remove bowl from mixer (be sure to scrape the beater) and stir in the nuts and chocolate chunks by hand.

Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheets and bake 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned.

Cool 5 minutes on sheets then remove cookies with a spatula to racks to cool.
