1/2 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Brown sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp Vanilla
1 cup Flour
3/4 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Baking soda
1 cup Chocolate chips
1/2 cup Walnuts or other nut- optional

Cream shortening, both sugars, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy.

Sift dry ingredients into another bowl.

Stir dry into creamed mixture and blend well.

Add chocolate chips and nuts.

Drop by teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheet.

Bake 10-12 minutes at 375.
