Ingredients: 1/2 cup walnut pieces; 3/4 cup all purpose flour plus 2 tablespoons; 1 stick unsalted butter at room temperature, cut into 8 pieces; 1/2 cup granulated sugar; 1/3 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar; 3/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract; 1 large egg; 1 teaspoon baking powder; 1/2 teaspoon salt; 3/4 cup wheat germ; 2/3 cup shredded coconut; 1/4 cup quick cooking oats; 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips

Process the walnuts and 2 tablespoons flour with the metal blade of the food processor until finely chopped,about 6 pulses. Reserve.

Process the butter, sugars, vanilla and egg until combined,about 20 seconds, scraping down the work bowl as necessary. Add the chopped walnuts and remaining ingredients and pulse until just mixed,about 8 times.

Preheat oven to 350.

Line a baking sheet with foil and place the dough by the heaping tablespoon about 1-inch apart onto the baking sheet. Bake in the center of the oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Remove from the oven,leave the cookies on the baking sheet for 1 minute, then transferthem to wire rack to cool.
