Ingredients: 1 lb ground chicken; ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese; ¼ cup plain breadcrumbs; 2 teaspoons italian seasoning; ¼ cup chopped parsley; 1 garlic clove, finely minced; 1 shallot, finely diced; ½ cup thick spaghetti sauce; 4 slices provolone cheese; 1 cup sliced mushrooms; 2 tablespoons butter; salt and pepper; 4 sandwich buns

Servings: persons

1 lb ground chicken
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
¼ cup plain breadcrumbs
2 teaspoons italian seasoning
¼ cup chopped parsley
1 garlic clove, finely minced
1 shallot, finely diced
½ cup thick spaghetti sauce
4 slices provolone cheese
1 cup sliced mushrooms
2 tablespoons butter
salt and pepper
4 sandwich buns

Lightly mix together first 7 ingredients for the burgers.

Form into 4 patties.

Saute mushrooms in 2 Tablespoons butter.

Season with salt and pepper.

Preheat broiler & spray the broiler pan with a little oil.

Broil the burgers for about 4 minutes on the first side, then flip and broil for 3 minutes.

Top each chicken burger with 2 tablespoons pasta sauce and a slice (or about 2T) of cheese.

Place back under the broiler for 30-60 seconds, until cheese in melted and burger is cooked through.

Brush buns with a little melted butter, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and a little Italian seasoning, and place under broiler just until toasted.
