Cherry Pie

   1. Heat oven to 425 degrees.

   2. Roll out 1/2 pastry and line pie plate.

   3. Stir together sugar and flour; mix with cherries.

   4. Turn mixture into pastry-lined pie plate; sprinkle with almond extract and dot with butter.

   5. Rollout second half of pastry and cover pie with top crust (either do a full top crust or lattice crust); seal and flute. If you used full top crust cut slits to vent.

   6. Bake 10 inch pie 40 to 50 minutes or until crust is brown and juice begins to bubble through slits in crust.
