   Boil raisins

   in water a few minutes.

   Let cool.

   Cream sugar, shortening and eggs.

   Mix soda in raisin juice (be sure you have 1 cup

   Add juice to shortening mixture. Add dry ingredients.

   Last add raisins and vanilla.

    Mix well. Chill 1 hour in refrigerator.

    Drop on lightly greased cookie sheet.

    Bake in 375u00b0 oven 12 to 15 minutes.
