Line a nine inch square pan with foil; butter foil.

For chocolate layer, beat granulated sugar and 1/2 c. butter at high speed on mixer, till light, about 2 min.

Add in 2 large Large eggs; mix well.

Fold in 4 ounces melted chocolate and 2 Tsp vanilla.

After stopping mixer add in 1/2 c. flour and salt; mix just till flour disappears.

Place mix in prepared pan and put in freezer while preparing next layer.

(This keeps layers separate.)

Preheat oven to 325 F. For pecan layer, heat 1/4 c. butter in small pan.

Add in brown sugar; cook over low heat till smooth.

Stir in 2 TBs flour and cook 30 seconds.

Set aside to cold 10 to 15 min.

Whisk 2 remaining Large eggs in small bowl.

Add in 1 large spoonful of cooled brown sugar mix; mix well.

Whisk constantly, add in Large eggs to brown sugar mix.

Stir in pecans and remaining 2 Tsp vanilla.

Pour pecan layer over well-chilled chocolate layer.

Bake till toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 45 min.

Cold completely.

For glaze, heat minced chocolate with remaining 1/2 c. butter, whisk till smooth.

Pour over cooled bars.

Tip pan to allow chocolate to cover bars.

Chill several hrs before cutting into squares for serving.
