3/4 c. Shortening
1 c. Brown sugar
2 x Large eggs
8 Tbsp. Water
2 c. Flour
2 tsp Baking pwdr
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Salt
2 c. Quick-cooking oats
1/2 c. Minced nut meats

Cover figs with warm water, allow to stand 10 min.

Pour off water and reserve for liquid.

Snip stems off figs, then chop coarsely.

Sift flour, measure.

Then add in baking pwdr, salt and cinnamon.

Cream shortening; add in sugar, cream together thoroughly.

Add in well-beaten egg, then add in sifted dry ingredients alternately with water to create dough.
