   Cover with 1 cup boiling water.

   Stir until shortening melts and sugar dissolves.

   Add 3 cups flour to make smooth batter.

   Dissolve 1 package yeast in 1/2 cup warm water (110 degrees).

    Brown hamburger with onions.
