From a piece of cardboard, draw and cut out a butterfly template about 3 inches long. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Using the template, draw 14 butterflies on each sheet of parchment paper.

Preheat the oven to 300u00b0F. Melt the butter, then add to the powdered sugar and beat to combine. Gradually beat in the flour, alternating with the egg whites, until all are incorporated. Place 1 tbsp batter in the center of a butterfly and smooth out to fill the template. Repeat with all the butterflies. Bake 1 sheet at a time for 12-15 mins each, until golden.

Place 2 tall glasses upside down and place a wooden spoon between them with an end on each glass. Hang the hot butterflies over the spoon so the wings dangle down on each side. Allow to cool.
