Butter Dip Biscuits

   Preheat oven to 450 F. Spray an 8-inch square baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

   Melt a stick of butter in the microwave. Pour the melted butter into the bottom of your 8x8 pan.

   In a large bowl mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Pour in the buttermilk. Stir just until the dough comes together. It will be very sticky and somewhat loose.

   Using your hands, press biscuit dough into your baking dish and on top of the melted butter. Some of the butter will end up on the surface and that's OK! It will all bake together in the oven.

   Take a sharp knife and cut the biscuit dough into 9 squares before baking. Bake for about 20-25 minutes. Mine took 22 minutes. Just make sure they are golden brown and they should bounce back when you touch them.
