4. Add vanilla, cinnamon, and bananas, and mix well. If you're using a stand or handheld mixer, there's no need to mash the bananas first.

5. Add flour, baking powder, and salt and stir just to combine.

6. Fold in walnuts and/or chocolate chips and blueberries.

9. Sprinkle brown or white sugar and a few walnuts on top (optional but definitely tasty) for crunch.
