Preheat oven 350 generously butter a 6 cup oval baking dish sprinkle with sugar. Mix eggs, sugar butter in a large bowl add milk vanilla salt and cinnamon mix well. Pour over bread pieces and soak until all the liquid has absorbed. Fold in raisins and pour the mixture into prepared dish. Put nutmeg on top. Place dish in water bath Bake for 1 hour or until pudding is firm and lightly browned.

Melt butter in double boiler , In a separate bowl mix sugar and egg. Pour melted butter over egg mixture stirring vigorously. Return the mixture to the pot and continue to cook over the simmering water until the sugar dissolves and the egg is cooked. approximately 4 minutes. Cool slightly before adding the whiskey. Pool a little in saucer and serve alongside bread pudding
