Ingredients: 3 c. Pinto beans; 8 c. Water; 1 lb Grnd beef; 1 Tbsp. Veg. oil; 1 med Onion; 1 lrg Garlic clove; 1 Tbsp. Chili pwdr; 1 Tbsp. Dry parsley; 1 Tbsp. Dry celery; 1 can Tomatoes; 2 x Carrots

3 c. Pinto beans
8 c. Water
1 lb Grnd beef
1 Tbsp. Veg. oil
1 med Onion
1 lrg Garlic clove
1 Tbsp. Chili pwdr
1 Tbsp. Dry parsley
1 Tbsp. Dry celery
1 can Tomatoes
2 x Carrots

Wash beans; cover with water and bring to a boil.

Cut heat to low and allow beans to simmer about an hour.

Saute/fry onions and garlic in oil and add in grnd meat.

When brown, add in chili pwdr.

Add in meat, parsley, celery and tomatoes to beans.

Return to boil; cut heat again to low.

Cook about 2 hrs longer.

Add in sliced carrots during last hour of cooking.

Salt and pepper to taste.

Serve with corn bread.
