   Cut shortening into flour and salt until mixture is crumbly. Add the other ingredients and stir until just blended.

   Chill at least 1 hour.

   (Dough can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.) Divide dough into 2 balls.

   Roll each and lay one into pie pan. Set the other aside for top crust.

   (I prefer to roll the dough on a cloth; a pillow case is perfect.
