1 md. onion, finely chopped
2 lg. garlic cloves, minced
12 oz. chile sauce
3/4 cup beer
1/4 cup unsulfured (light) molasses
3 tbsp. cider vinegar
3 tbsp. bourbon whiskey
1-1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. hot pepper sauce

Heat the oil in a heavy medium saucepan over medium heat.

Add the onion and the garlic saute until tender, around 8 minutes, then reduce the heat.

Add the chili sauce, molasses, beer, vinegar, whiskey and the Worcestershire sauce.

Simmer until it has reduced to 2 cups, stirring occasionally, for about 25 minutes.

Stir in the hot pepper sauce.
