1
Use an entire box of Arrowhead Mills seitan (or possibly any other which might be more convenient for you).
-
2
Start by mixing the seitan with 50% water and 50% liquid smoke.
-
3
Follow the direction on the box for kneading the seitan.
-
4
IGNORE the usual broth recipe.
-
5
Pour in about two qts of water into that you have added another half c. of liquid smoke.
-
6
Bring to a boil, then add in the seitan.
-
7
Reduce to a rolling simmer and cover for five min.
-
8
Remove the cover and continue cooking in a gently rolling simmer.
-
9
After two hrs, turn the seitan over and pour in more water and some more liquid smoke.
-
10
Cook for two more hrs and it's done.
-
11
Store the seitan, as usual, in the broth, keeping it totaly submerged at all times.
-
12
When you're ready, THINLY slice it and heat on foil over a barbecue for just a few moments, add in BBQ sauce and anyone who can tell it from m**t has better taste buds than I do.
-
13
Now if you do not want to buy a pre-made BBQ sauce you can try this recipe: MMmmmmmmmmm GOOD!
