¼ cup soft butter
1 egg, beaten
2 large unpeeled apples, shredded
1 cup sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon salt

½ cup butter
1 cup sugar
½ cup light cream
1 dash nutmeg (Prefferably fresh grated)
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla
whipped cream

Preheat oven to 350.

Cream sugar and butter.

Sift dry ingredients in a seperate bowl and add to apple mixture.

Pour into two greased 8 or 9 inch pans for about 45 minutes.

Sauce: Heat butter sugar and cream together over low heat 10-15 minutes stirring occasionally until blended and thickened.
