1 onion, diced
1 Oxo beef cube
1/2 c. Hunt's tomato sauce
3 potatoes, cubed
5 carrots, chopped
parsley
salt
pepper
1 bay leaf
1/2 to 1 c. water (as necessary)
1/2 c. beer
1 garlic clove, chopped
1 celery stalk

Brown beef in oil.

Remove from dish.

Saute celery, onion, garlic and parsley.

Add beef to pot again.

Add beef cube, water, tomato sauce and spices.

Simmer about 3/4 hour.

Add vegetables. Cook until tender.

Simmer, covered, about 1/2 hour longer.
