1/2 c. green beans
2 to 3 tsp. sugar (optional)
salt and pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. soy sauce
1 bay leaf
1/4 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/4 c. barley
1 c. chopped potatoes
3/4 c. chopped carrots
cabbage and broccoli (optional)
