3 to 4 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
salt and pepper
3/4 c. water
1 Tbsp. lemon juice

Saute onions until brown. Combine all ingredients in large pot and bring to a simmer. Do not boil. Makes about 2 quarts. Keep in refrigerator up to 10 weeks.
