Beat together butter and sugar until very light and creamy.

Beat in eggs, one at a time.

Sift together dry ingredients.

Combine mashed bananas, vanilla and milk.

Add the sifted ingredients to the butter mixture in thirds, alternating with thirds of the banana mixture.

Beat well after each addition until smooth.

Pour into 2 greased and floured 9-inch round pans.

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

Cool.

Dust cooked cakes with powdered sugar.

Spread bottom layer with whipped cream, bananas (sliced) and chopped pecans.
