Baklava

   Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

   Melt 1 1l2 cups butter and brush 10 sheets pastry (philo dough) individually layer in pan

   Cop 1 pound walnuts and 5 tablespoons sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, dash cloves. Spread 1/3 mixture over pastry. Repeat 3 times until 40 sheets are layered Heat remaining butter until hot and beginning to brown and pour over pastry after having partially cut into diamonds. Sprinkle drops of cold water over top and bake at 350 degree oven for 35 to 45 minutes. Pour following syrup over top while syrup is hot. Simmer for 20 minutes.3 cups water, lemon juice, 3 cups sugar, whole cloves, stick of cinnamon, several slices orange and lemon unpeeled. Strain and pour over all. Let sit in a cool spot for about half a day.
