This recipe can be twisted and prodded until if fits what you and your family like. This is the way that my picky husband likes it.
-
2
This can be made in individual cake tins (see picture) or in a casserole dish. What ever makes you happy, I'm not one to judge.
-
3
Set oven on 400 degrees.
-
4
Cook the potatoes until fork tender (I use the microwave because it's fast ... and easy).
-
5
Coat pan or dish with butter to prevent sticking.
-
6
Layer half the ham on the bottom of the dish.
-
7
Top with half the potatoes.
-
8
Season as desired; don't add too much salt, since the cheese and ham will add to the flavor.
-
9
Sprinkle half the cheese.
-
10
Layer the rest of the ham.
-
11
Layer rest of the potatoes.
-
12
Add a little more seasoning.
-
13
Add the last bit of cheese.
-
14
In a separate bowl, mix the eggs (add a little milk if you'd like) and season as desired.
-
15
Pour egg mixture over the rest of the prepared ingredients.
-
16
Pop in the oven for about 10-15 minutes, depending on how done you like your eggs.

Note: a little before the eggs are done, I like to turn on the broiler to brown the top and finish cooking the eggs.
