1- 1/2 Tablespoon Olive Oil
1 Tablespoon Butter
1/4 whole Large Onion, Sliced
1 dash Kosher Salt
1 dash Sugar
1/2 cups Balsamic Vinegar
2 slices Focaccia Bread
2 slices Prosciutto
3 whole Calimyra Figs, Sliced
Goat Cheese
4 whole Fresh Basil Leaves

In a large skillet, heat 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil and the butter over medium-low heat.

Add the onions and a pinch of kosher salt.

When the onions begin to brown add a dash of sugar.

Cook, stirring occasionally, until golden and caramelized, about 20 minutes.

Transfer to a cool plate or bowl to stop the cooking process.

While the onions are caramelizing, put balsamic vinegar into a small pot and bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until reduced by 1/2 and liquid becomes syrupy, about 5 minutes.

Assemble your sandwich, start with a slice of focaccia, top with prosciutto, figs, onions and some goat cheese.
