Grind wafers and put most of them in bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan.

Cream 1/2 cup butter.

Add a cup of powdered sugar and cream well.

Add yolk of eggs.

Fold in 2 well-beaten egg whites.

Drop mixture by small spoonfuls over ground wafers and spread carefully over crumbs.

Put in refrigerator until it hardens a little.

Over this, spread 2 to 3 cups mashed apricots (sweetened).

Let the apricots get to room temperature before putting on butter and egg mixture.

Whip the whipping cream and spread over the apricots. (Add the vanilla and 1 teaspoon sugar to the whipped cream.) Garnish with a little of the ground wafers.
