2 sticks margarine, softened
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. allspice
3 tsp. cinnamon
4 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
16 oz. jar applesauce

Mix margarine, softened, with sugar and add eggs.

Sift together dry ingredients and blend with first teaspoon of vanilla. Mixture will be very stiff.

Mix the baking soda with the applesauce in a small bowl and add last teaspoon of vanilla. Mixture should be stirred with a wooden spoon and will foam up. Add applesauce mixture to flour mixture and mix well.

Spoon into greased muffin tins and top with sprinkling of cinnamon/sugar mixture if desired.

Bake at 400u00b0 for 12 minutes.
