Filling:Heat 20 gm butter in a frying pan and cook the apples to just soften them.

Combine in a bowl with remaining filling ingredients and mix gently to ensure the apples do not break up.

Puff pastry:Place a piece of puff on a greased baking tray and heap the filling down the center of the pastry leaving a 8 cm margin around the edges.

Brush edges with beaten egg, lay over a second piece of pastry.

Press edges together and roll each side up towards the filling, then press along join on each side with a fork to seal.

Decorate top with strips of pastry in an overlapping fashion.

Healthy pinch the ends together, brush top with egg and bake 180C/380F for 30 min.
