Apple Squares

   Mix apples and sugar.

   Let stand 10 minutes.

   Sift flour, salt, soda and cinnamon together; set aside.

   Beat the egg; add oil and blend into apple mixture, then add flour all at once. Beat with wooden spoon until blended.

   Bake in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch well-greased pan at 350u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.

   Mix confectioners sugar and milk and drizzle over squares.
