1/4 c. minced pecans
1 x unbaked 9 inch pie shell
3/4 c. sugar
2 tsp flour
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinnamon
6 c. thinly sliced tart apples
2 Tbsp. butter or possibly margarine
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 c. butter or possibly margarine
1/3 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 c. minced pecans

Make pie shell as above, using only half the recipe.

Sprinkle pecans on bottom of pie shell.

In a separate bowl, mix sugar, flour and spices with apple slices.

Heap apples into pie shell.

Bake at 425 degrees for 15 min, then turn down oven to 350 degrees for 30 min.

CRUMB TOPPING:Blend sugar, butter, flour and cinnamon with fork till the mix forms balls the size of peas.
