Apple Nobby Cake

   Preheat oven to 350u00b0.

   Grease an 8 x 8-inch square pan.

   Place shortening, eggs and sugar in a large bowl.

   Cream until smooth with portable electric mixer.

   Measure flour, salt, cinnamon, soda and nutmeg into medium bowl.

   Stir to combine.

   Add flour mixture to shortening and beat until all ingredients are moistened.

   With a wooden spoon, stir in vanilla and diced apples.

   Press into 8 x 8-inch greased pan.
