To make the dough, combine 1 cup lukewarm water, yeast and sugar. Set aside in warm place for 10 mins, until mixture is frothy. Sift together flour and 1 tsp salt. Add yeast mixture then knead on a lightly floured work surface for 5-10 mins, until smooth and elastic.

Transfer to a large, oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap and set aside in a warm place for 1 hour, or until dough doubles in size. Knead into a smooth ball then divide into 8 pieces.

Preheat oven to 400u00b0F. Lightly grease 2 baking trays. Roll each portion of dough into a 4 inch disc. Place on prepared trays. Arrange apples over top and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Drizzle with butter and bake for 25-30 mins, until golden. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with ice cream.
